Week 12, Term 1

Reading Rotations
Each morning Monday to Thursday we are busy at work in our reading rotations. We work in groups of 3 and move around 6 different activities. During this time Neroli is withdrawing children for guided reading. The activities change everyday so that we have a variety of tasks. We work hard to complete all our jobs.

Week 11, Term 1

Our Natureland Adventure! This week we had a special trip to Natureland Zoo to finish off our inquiry topic on animal classification. We had a wonderful time learning all about the animals at the zoo. We saw examples of mammals, fish, reptiles and birds. During our visit we fed some of the farm animals. This was an absolute highlight for many of us!

We are talking about our rights and responsibilities in Renwick 3. This week we talked about our right to be safe at school. Consequently we have made a list of our responsibilities to ensure we all feel safe...
* use a quiet voice in the classroom
* keep our hands and feet to ourselves
* only say positive things to our friends - no put downs
* walk inside the class room
* help our friends if they need it
* include all our friends in a game
* listen to our friends - especially if they ask us to stop doing something
We have all promised to try our very best to adhere to our list.

Next week...
Our sounds will be f,b/ng,v.
Our tricky words will be was/have.
During maths we will continue with simple addition and probability.
Please remember library books are due back. We still have a few outstanding and Val our librarian is keen to have them all back before the end of term.
A big thank you for all your wonderful support over this long term. I can say with my hand on my heart that the children are absolute superstars!
Have a safe and happy week!

Welcome back after the Easter break. It sounds like we all had a great holiday filled with fun and chocolate!
This week we took the balls out to practice our fundamental skill 'catching'. Our aim is to keep our eye on the ball and to catch it with two hands, pulling it towards our chest. We have some superstars already!

 Next week...

Our sounds will be sh, l and z.
Our tricky words will be she, was.
During maths we will be doing simple addition and probability.
On Wednesday we have our trip to Natureland. Thank you to all those parents who have offered to help with transport and supervision. If you wish your child to travel in a car seat please provide these on Wednesday morning. We will be leaving school at approximately 9.30 and returning at 12 noon.
Have a happy and safe week!
